As from February 1st of this year I took the keys of 8 Schooners Business Park on Bess Park Road Trenant Industrail Estate.
I am delighted to say that this has now become the Come to Heal Dog Training Centre and I opened my doors at the beginning of March for 1~2~1 training and TTouch sessions ~ it is lovely to have my own space and to offer a safe comfortable space for dogs and their handlers.
As from 1st May I will be starting dog training classes. My classes will have no more than six dogs in each class. I feel strongly that classes need to be small so people and dogs can feel comfortable relax and get the most out of their class. Places need to bee booked in advance and I am delighted to say that my Wednesday Life Skills class is already full so I am now booking places for my Monday Life Skills class.
Puppy classes begin on the 6th May. Each course is six weeks long and the Monday and Wednesday Life Skills classes run from 6.30p.m to 7.30p.m.
Saturday morning is for Puppy classes ~again a series of six one hour classes running fromm 10.00a.m to 11.00a.m
PLEASE NOTE CLASSES NEED TO BE BOOKED IN ADVANCE
Please feel free to call me on 01208 812677 or 07817202957 to book a place.
I look forward to welcoming you and your dog to my Dog Training Centre
Welcome to “Come to Heal”. My name is Shona Moon. I have enjoyed a life long love affair with that marvellous creature that is the dog.
Working with rescue dogs first got me interested in dog behaviour. I went to Obedience Classes where traditional methods of dog training were used. I felt uncomfortable – So I decided to learn more and studied and gained a Certificate of Advanced Canine Communication.
The major turning point for me has been discovering , learning and working with the amazing technique of Tellington TTouch and qualifying as a dog trainer with the IMDT
TTouch is a wonderful practical way in which everyone can help their dog relax and improve their mental physical and emotional well being ~ in short you enable your dog to be the best that they can be.
I also regularly update my knowledge by attending seminars workshops and courses in dog behaviour and assist at TTouch trainings with my TTouch instructors Robyn Hood Sarah Fisher & Marie Miller. I am currently undergoing a mentorship with the founder of IMDT Steve Mann and am an Accredited IMDT Dog Trainer with an Open College Network qualification in the Principles of Dog Behaviour and Training
In 2013 my dog Barney Moon and I attended a wonderful Scent workshop with Nando Brown~ this got us both hooked on Scentwork.
In 2014 I attended workshops with Pauline Jackson and qualified in Animal Communication with Maureen Rolls.
I do one to one consultations in TTouch dog training and behaviour in the comfort and security of your home as well as outside socialisation with my dogs Barney Moon and Star.
I also run TTouch workshops throughout the year ~ see News and Events.
It takes a lot of courage to ask for help with your dog. My emphasis is on working with you and your dog.
My aim is to provide a holistic way in which to work and communicate with your dog.
There is no force or shouting ~I work with your dog’s nature and freewill.
I work closely with my local branch of The Labrador Rescue Trust.
Currently I have two Yellow Labradors Barney Moon who is six years old and Star who has just turned two. Barney Moon has been with me for nearly four years~ I met him through my work with Labrador Rescue. He is an Old Soul in so many ways and is also my work buddy helping dogs to relax and overcome their fears.
Star lives up to his name and is rock solid and an important part of my team as well as being a joy to train
Lyra and Seamus my dogs who have now crossed the rainbow bridge have all helped me to do what I do today ~ please see their stories in TRIBUTES
Provided you are prepared to be consistent and work with me and your dog you will see results,
So…if you feel something is missing with you and your dog give me a call …
Come and share the magic and enjoy time with your dog. Training is fun!
